What is left? | Conglomerates

Conglomerates are companies that comprises multiple different corporations. In the fashion industry these conglomerates would be parent companies that own other big brands that we're all familiar with for example, on the high street we have the Arcadia Group who have a subsidiaries of Topshop, Topman and Miss Selfridge to name a few.

Here are some brands that aren't part of a conglomerate.

Fashion Revolution Day

Fashion Revolution are a growing Ethical fashion movement who's aim is to bring awareness and change towards the ethics of clothes manufacture. It all started with the Rana Plaza factory disaster in Bangladesh where over 1 thousand workers lost their lives.

Our busy day trip to Paris consisted of visits to museums, shopping districts and stores.

Designer Clustering | LONDON

A walk through London where designer shops are most prominent, made me aware of the significance of their locations and the part they play in reaching specific consumers and the visual presence they have.
Here are some of the places I found most notable from the cluster walk.

Chanel are heading into the direction of the digital age with the exhibition Mademoiselle Privé which takes you on a virtual journey through the brand history of Chanel whilst their point of convergence seems to be giving you the ultimate brand experience.

Addressing Diversity in Fashion

For many decades the face of fashion has been the young, beautiful, tall and slim white woman. As the times change we have seen the recognition for the need of diversity has become more prominent.
There have been quite a few striking successes from global ad campaigns and brands that aren't afraid to celebrate the real diversity that exists in the world.

50 Years of Dolce & Gabbana

I grabbed this '50 years of Dolce & Gabbana' book off the shelf in hope to quickly find some images that I'd be able to reference for the corsetry project that I'm doing at college. What I didn't expect, was to be sitting in the library for three quarters of an hour just flicking through the massive book that it is. I fell in love with the sensual and sophisticated look of the models (especially the hairstyles).
These are most of the stunning photographs that I had to capture for myself, just because I felt incredibly inspired by them.
